“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.” —Viktor Frankl

My approach to therapy is collaborative, feeling-forward, and interactive with attention to your individual and cultural background. Most clients would describe our sessions as conversational with intentional questions, frequent check-ins, and humor when appropriate. Theoretically, I blend three evidence-based models: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT); Multicultural Therapy.

What does this all mean? I believe our relationships, culture, and history of experiences create a blueprint of how we see ourselves and navigate the world around us. As adults, we may begin to notice that certain thought patterns or behaviors are not as helpful as they once were. I believe that change happens when you take small risks with the support from a secure and honest relationship. My role is to help you feel safe enough to listen to your emotions without judgement, identify behavioral and thought patterns, make connections between past and present, & cultivate more effective behaviors that align with your values.
